Thousands join historic gay pride in Delhi...
Delhi has held its first annual gay pride since homosexuality was legalised with thousands of people taking part in a parade in the Indian capital on Sunday.
Around 2,000 people joined the event with rainbow flags, banners and drums; some in demonstration at continued stigmatisation of gays, and some in celebration of the decriminalisation of homosexuality in the country, which was passed last year.
Although a march was held earlier this year in celebration of the change in legislation, the third annual gay pride held on Sunday becomes the first of its kind in Delhi since the colonial-era law was overturned. More...
