A man who used different aliases to travel across Europe pretended to be a monk to steal thousands of pounds from a Co Antrim monastery, the High Court heard on Friday.
Francesco Ferro, 27, raided Our Lady of Bethlehem Abbey in Portglenone after arriving and moving in earlier this year, prosecutors claimed.
A judge was told the Romanian is fluent in five languages and currently under investigation in connection with other alleged thefts in Switzerland and Germany. More...
