Aussie pensioner willing to pay $5000 fine for book he borrowed in 1957!!!

A pensioner has said that he is prepared to pay a AU$5,000 (£3,080) library fine on returning a book over 50 years late.

Raymond McLaren, 73, borrowed Knots, Splices and Fancy Work from Newcastle Region Library in 1957 when he was 19, the Australian Daily Telegraph reports.

At around 19,350 days overdue, McLaren has incurred a fine of almost AU$5,000, which he has said that he will pay. More...
