The mayor of the city of San Gabriel was in custody Friday on charges of felony robbery and assault after he allegedly took a woman’s purse and sped down a residential street with her clinging to the side of his sport-utility vehicle.
Mayor Albert Y.M. Huang was being held at the San Gabriel police station, said Lt. Ariel Duran of the San Gabriel Police Department.
Police said they received a call about 1:15 a.m. Friday about a heated argument between Huang and a woman. Investigators determined Huang was arguing over money with the woman outside a restaurant in the 300 block of West Valley Boulevard. More...
