A man who wound up behind bars complained to Fort Pierce police that his neighbors on South 24th Street refused to give him beer, according to a recently released arrest affidavit.
Felipe Mejia, 32, said he called 911, lamenting to investigators around 1 a.m. on Oct. 3 that his neighbors in the 700 block of South 24th Street wouldn't hand over a cold one.
Police spoke to a neighbor, who said Mejia came over seeking suds. The neighbor said he didn't oblige Mejia's request "because he was drunk." An officer reported Mejia smelled of booze, slurred his words and had bloodshot eyes and difficulty keeping his balance. More...
