Britain, Sweden warn France and Germany on EU treaty change...

Britain and Sweden were among the nations warning Germany and France on Tuesday not to change European Union treaties in an attempt to enforce new budget discipline rules.

French President Nicolas Sarkozy and German Chancellor Angela Merkel said Monday that the EU's Lisbon Treaty should be amended by 2013 to introduce a permanent eurozone bailout mechanism, coupled with political sanctions for serious budget sinners. More...
