President Barack Obama has family ties, believe it or not, to Republican political foes Sarah Palin and George W Bush, according to genealogists.

Obama and Palin, the former Alaska governor and vice presidential candidate, are 10th cousins through a common ancestor named John Smith.

And bizarrely, former President Bush is an 11th cousin related to both Obama and Palin. Genealogist Anastasia Tyler, of Ancestry.com, made the shock discovery while looking for family connections between political enemies. More...
