Australian newspaper editor suspended for Facebook comment...

A newspaper editor in Australia was suspended on Friday after posting comments on his Facebook page about how the murder of a policeman would lift his newspaper's circulation.

Matt Nicholls, the editor of New South Wales paper Glen Innes Examiner said on Facebook that he would "make the most" of the tragedy - the killing of Constable Bill Crews, who hailed from Glen Innes, in a drug raid in Sydney.

He boasted on the site that he would capitalise on the murder to boost sales of his paper, with one of his comments reportedly being: "There is nothing better than a death to lift circulation." More...
