Amnesty International today urged the Iranian authorities to halt the execution of Sakineh Mohammadi Ashtiani.
The human rights organisation describes stoning as a ‘grotesque and unacceptable penalty which Iran should abolish immediately’.
Ashtiani’s children joined in with a heart-breaking appeal to the international community to help spare their mother’s life.

i cant dare to read these stories in detail as my blood is boiling at even the headlines.Have we ceased to be humans.I feel ashamed to be part of human race.
ReplyDeleteDon't be ashamed to be a human, Nirmal! Most people everywhere are decent humans,living their lives as best as they can. Unfortunately, incidents like this one give us the impression that the whole human race is in a mess. Not so. There are lots of people "out there" who recognize evil and are doing something about it.
ReplyDeletethroughout the human history men has tried to create a society most adaptable for only them. From the early age till today, women are downtrodden. Do you know why? I think you know. Because men feel insecure. They flare up in punishing only those sins that they're most certain of committing. They condemn brothel, but it is none but they themselves are its customer. They condemn adultery, because they see the concept of 'sex' only in the carnal limited level, and they have actually no power to think beyond it. Muslim world has long tyrannized Islamic doctrines. Here the testimony of making love is few arabic Suras (Quaranic verses). How absurd it is! It is only those who condemn love making are most heinous in their inner psychology. Thinking is reality for an individual. 'As a man thinketh, so he is' (Bible). The way of one's thinking speaks about his personality. So if someone condemns sex, then the ones who are committing them are not to be blamed, rather that person who condemns it because in his heart is carries all the negative aspects of a sacred union or things positive from a higher state of consciousness. Why, sex is the God in matter that creates and sustains existence on earth. Sex is the worldly manifestation of God's creationing human. It is only those ones bound in one direction of belief shall condemn this or that. Liberal minds shall not indulge trivial matters and shall appreciate where there is love, wisdom and beauty, where there is the consciousness of consciousness. I tell you both, as I live among them, Muslims are the most narrow minded creatures I've ever seen. I'm not blaming Islam, rather those who are practising it to fulfill their own purposes, most egotistic in nature. Muslim world is insecure. So wherever they find matters that can destroy or hamper their faith, they abolish them. Their fear is finding themselves in those things they are afraid of. They fear is self-reflective. They punish because they are ignorant. They are ignorant because they are within a single religion, a tyrannical one.
