Tamiflu blinds teen who did not even have a virus...

A teenage girl who was blinded after taking swine flu antiviral drug Tamiflu did not even have the virus, it was revealed yesterday.

Samantha Millard developed a life-threatening syndrome after swallowing three tablets on the advice of the NHS’s flu helpline.

But the 19-year-old’s body was soon covered in painful blisters and she was on a life-support machine within 72 hours.

She spent a month in hospital after developing life-threatening Stevens Johnson syndrome which developed into toxic epidermal necrolysis, leaving her with damaged eyesight. More...
