Mumbai's amazing culture of outdoor eating...(BBC video)

In an ongoing series, BBC News focuses on aspects of life in countries and cities around the world. What may seem ordinary and familiar to the people who live there, can be surprising to those who do not.

There is a Sunday tradition in the Indian city of Mumbai: during the day, families and couples meet up and socialise on Chowpatty beach.

But when night falls, the action moves to the nearby streets, where row after row of stalls sell takeaway food from all over India.

A hungry Ben Richardson went along to take in the amazing sights, smells - and, of course, tastes. Watch the video...
