Employees of the Japanese cosmetics giant Shiseido caught working after 10 pm are being escorted off the premises to cut down on overtime and encourage staff to spend more time with their families.
Security guards are required to take the name of anyone they find still in the building after the curfew and those that are caught are required to write a letter of apology to their superior.
"They turn the lights out all over the building at 10pm and we all have to leave," said June Sato, a spokesman for the company. "The company says it has introduced the 10 pm rule because we are working too much and they think it is better of staff are free to go home earlier and be with their families." More...
