Israeli politicians have called for a boycott of British goods amid claims that new Government advice on labelling supermarket produce from the West Bank recalled the Nazi persecution of the Jews.
In a move that will further strain already tense Anglo-Israeli relations, an initiative demanded a public boycott of all British products and airlines. It immediately attracted the support of nearly half of Israel's parliament, the Knesset.
MPs said they were expressing their "revulsion" at a British Government advisory, released last week, suggesting that supermarkets could use labels distinguishing between Palestinian and Israeli settler produce from the occupied West Bank. More...
