Chinese policeman who drank himself to death was a "hero" and a "martyr"

A Chinese policeman who drank himself to death at an official banquet was killed doing his job and his family are entitled to compensation, senior officers have ruled.

Chen Lusheng, 38, a traffic officer in Shenzhen, “died in the line of duty” after an epic drinking session during a dinner with officials in October.

Lusheng has been deemed a 'martyr' in an apparent attempt to meet his family's demands for compensation, a state-run newspaper said. More...
