Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi's official residence was a 'harem', an escort girl claimed in a new interview.

Patrizia D'Addario, 42, described how she was paid to attend a party along with several other women and spent the night with Berlusconi, 73, recording their time together.

Ms D'Addario's appearance on the prime time state TV show, RAI, came after several days of attacks and counter attacks from Berlusconi supporters who accused the programme of using licence fee money to 'broadcast gossip'.

Mr Berlusconi has been at the centre of a summer-long sex scandal since it emerged escorts hired by businessman Gianpaolo Tarantini had been hired to attend the parties in Rome and Sardinia. More...
