Libya stops issuing visas to Canadians...

Libya has stopped issuing visas to Canadian citizens amid rising tensions between the two governments, local media reported Sunday.

Kadhafi was supposed to spend a short layover in Canada while heading back to Libya from summits in the United States and Venezuela. More...

  1. I am disgusted with this affair. And I have to say, I understand Mr. Harper for expressing the displeasure over the attitude towards someone, who is convicted of bombing innocent people. And the Kadhafi's reaction says it itself, that this despotic leader is not able to make smart decision. But if this is the revenge he needs to make, let it be his pleasure. I don't think Libya is a favourite tourists' destination anyway. Julie

  2. Hi Julie! As you probably know, Libya and Switzerland have not been so friendly to each other for more than a year now, ever since Geneva police arrestd Gadhafi's son Hannibal after a complaint against him for maid abuse. Two Swiss nationals have been virtually kidnapped and are being held in some secret location in that country, without the UN, Amnesty International, etc, making the slightest attempt to resolve the problem. And the international community simply closing their eyes and looking the other way...
