Just 57 per cent think world temperatures are rising - a drop of 20 points compared to three years ago - while only one in three believes humans are causing climate change.
The findings, based on a survey of 1,500 adults, come as the US Senate is preparing to debate legislation that will curb greenhouse gas emissions.
According to the new survey, carried out by the Pew Research Centre, 36 per cent believe human activities - such as pollution from power plants, factories and automobiles - are behind a global temperature increase. That's down from 47 percent from 2006 . More...
