Facebook gave millions of users' details to firms...

Facebook has made sweeping changes to its privacy policy after complaints about it handing the personal details of tens of millions of users to private companies. 

The social networking website routinely gives sensitive information - including ages, interests and personal messages - to almost a million third-party firms worldwide. 

Campaigners claimed that users were not made aware of exactly what would be done with their details. 

The information is used to develop games and quizzes for the site. More...
