Tributes for murdered Russian human rights activist...

Tributes have been paid to a noted Russian human rights activist whose body was found yesterday hours after she was abducted in Chechnya.

Natalia Estemirova had been investigating alleged abuses by government-backed militias in the region when she was bundled into a van after leaving her home in Grozny on Wednesday morning.

Later that day her body was found in neighbouring Ingushetia with several gunshot wounds. More...

  1. Ms. Estimorova's murder is another reminder to the world of the perils journalists and civil rgights activists face on bringing serious issues to global media attention. by these murders going unpunished is setting a dangerous precident for other dictatorships!
