Lovesick parrot pines for mate who flew coop...

A lovesick parrot is desperately seeking the return of her mate after he flew off from their cage.

Ever since Yellowhead, a blue-fronted Amazon, escaped from his perch his partner has refused to eat and has been calling out non-stop.

Her owner Dave Lawson, 46, said the birds, which mate for life, had been inseparable and Yellowhead, who escaped on Sunday, would not survive for long in the wild. More...
