Chinese take-away crawling with cockroaches...

A food business operator was fined £2,400 and ordered to pay costs of £1,400 for hygiene offences after a Chinese takeaway was found to be heavily infested with cockroaches.

The prosecution was brought by Coventry City Council after EHOs discovered the cockroach infestation at Yuyi Dragon in Coventry while investigating a food complaint.

The complaint from a member of the public alleged food they had purchased from the takeaway was contaminated with insects. Officers confirmed that a serving of banana fritters was contaminated with three dead insects, which were identified as juvenile German Cockroaches. More...
