Pakistan's beleaguered government has managed to win unprecedented popular support for the army's offensive against Taliban fighters in the Swat Valley.
Both of the country's main political movements - the ruling Pakistan People's Party and the opposition Pakistan Muslim League (Nawaz) - have joined forces to support the operation.
