Canadian MP barred from Sri Lanka...

The Sri Lankan government has denied entry to a prominent Canadian politician whom it views as sympathetic to the Tamil Tiger rebels. 

Immigration officials said the visit of Liberal MP, Bob Rae, was not suitable. 

Mr Rae has been outspoken in his criticism of the Sri Lankan military's offensive against the Tamil Tigers. 

Sri Lanka has recently refused entry to several foreign officials and journalists whom it views as hostile to its fight to wipe out the rebels.
