How Sarkozy boosts Bruni's singing career...

Thousands of copies of Carla Bruni's latest album are to be given away in a campaign to promote Gallic culture abroad. 

At least 14,000 'marketing ambassadors' in 19 countries have received Comme Si De Rien N'était (As If Nothing Happened) along with wine and cheese vouchers, and corkscrews. 

In return, they will hold 'Gallic evenings' to show off the best of French exports.

However, there has been anger at the way the £1million initiative promotes Miss Bruni, the wife of French president Nicolas Sarkozy. More...
