A Whiter Shade Of Pale, the Procul Harum hit that spent six weeks at the top of the charts in 1967, was today disclosed as the most-heard song in public places over the last 75 years.
The single beat Queen's Bohemian Rhapsody into second place in a three-hour countdown programme The People's Chart, presented by Gavin and Stacey actor Rob Brydon.
Others in the top five of the chart, compiled by music licensing company PPL for its 75th anniversary, included The Everly Brothers' All I Have To Do Is Dream, Wet Wet Wet's Love Is All Around and Bryan Adams' (Everything I Do) I do It For You. More...
