Israel bombs the dead in Gaza cemeteries as death toll approaches 1,000...

Israeli aircraft struck a Gaza City cemetery today, pulverizing newly buried bodies, the military and witnesses said.

The attack also pounded militants' weapons positions and arms smuggling tunnels, the military claimed.

The Palestinian death toll rose to 971, Gaza's Health Ministry said this morning, counting some 400 women and children among those killed.
