A guilt-ridden thief sent a letter of apology and £100 back to the shop where he stole cigarettes from seven years earlier.
Shopkeeper Imran Ahmed, who runs Raja Foods in Easton in Bristol, was stunned when he received the note and compensation from the remorseful thief.
Mr Ahmed, 27, who remembers the night-time raid - which left him with a broken shutter and windows - said the anonymous writer's change of heart was 'really good'.
In the note the thief revealed how he had been a drug addict when he stole from the shop and that he was now trying to make amends for his wrongdoings.
The letter reads: 'Dear Sirs, I am writing this letter in order to make amends to you for something I have done in the past. More...
