Manchester United are set to be bitten by the credit crunch with sponsors AIG facing a crisis.
US insurance giants AIG are hoping for a £20billion hand-out from America’s Federal Reserve to keep their business on track.
The New York-based firm are in the third year of a four-year £56.5million shirt sponsorship deal with the Old Trafford giants.
But despite AIG being plunged deep into the turmoil on Wall Street, United are confident they will complete the richest-ever sponsorship deal.
However, it looks like United will have to look for a new shirt sponsor when the deal expires.
